Seasons greeting all!

Just a thought but are we expecting any further signings at halfback or do we think that we have the spine of the team set? I am really pleased with the squad plus possibly having Miles back etc but do we need an out-and-out defence-splitter?

I sincerely do not wish to sound negative at all but with all that money, do we need to think a little more in terms of attack. I am sure no Fax fan would want to spoil the side with a Rangi Chase type however do we have enough in attack?

As I say, just a thought...

Johnston is a genuine defence splitter. Look at the amount of breaks he created on his own last season

In my humble opinion, pure class, best at half back than fullback, again in my humble opinion.
I think we are quite strong in the halves, the new signing of Moore from Castleford for primarily our second team seems to suggest that.
(Yes he is a hooker but can play at half back)
I think we have seen all our signings now, It would seem Richard is happy with the players he has got.
Remember he is the Coach of the year, he doesn't need to sign flashy players in desperation.

I think Johnston struggled to find his feet under Marshall early in the season and then a mix up that was no fault of his own meant him missing a couple of games so he was in and out a little bit. From the half way point though no matter where he played he created things for us and his defence is unreal for someone of his size, he does not miss many at all. I would like to see Moore and Johnston in the halfs with Murrell at 13 but I think we might see Johnston at FB until Miles is back up to speed. We have lots of options though.

We're all looking forward to Rowley leading us to second place (in the league) then he will qualify for coach of the year, having taken us down a position - just like Richard Marshall did for you guys!

(only joking - I've got a lot of respect for RM - after all, he did play a spell at Leigh, did he not?)

Fax wont need playmaker when you play Leigh ,you won't have the ball that much.

They will if we continue to disrespect possession at the same rate as last season!

Alan ,hopefully we shall have learned from last season,the quality in the playing staff has improved and thus will show on the field.

You might be right Ian, however I'm thinking we will see a lot of the ball, every time your over jealous players give away a penalty.
