| There's a few postings on here relating to "fickle fans" and those who didn't attend due to varying reasons. I for one can understand some of our supporters not wishing to pay their hard earned cash to watch a poor display from the team they follow.
My understanding is a fan is someone who is fanatical about the club they support, they don't miss games because their side isn't producing on the pitch, they don't pay £18 to enter the ground because they have a season ticket and they sing and chant for the full 80 minutes.
What I saw in the 2nd half in the WRE was passion from "fans" of our beloved Tigers. When the Wire support came into the WRE last night we saw that raw passion and the desire to not let the visitors take over our stand and to me this epitomised a fanatical following.
We do have "supporters" who pick and choose which games to watch and they will decide to watch the likes of Wigan v Leeds on Sky instead of going down the Lane, thats their choice but as I've said in my eyes they are supporters of our club but not fans.
There will be some out there who don't agree with the above but those of us who were in the WRE last night can truely call themselves fanatical followers of Cas Tigers and yes I will be at the next game and yes I will have a season ticket again next season and yes I was in the WRE last night.

| Interesting last night that almost all the Cas fans stayed to the final whistle, good to see you haven't resorted to the Wigan Walk.

| At the end of the day, I may say things that have a dig at the club, I may show my frustration and anger at times with the players and the performances but despite a hiding, despite getting played off the park and despite showing the gulf in quality and depth between us and the next team, I will still be at the next home game, I will still get a ST and I will still follow my team. Regardless of division.

| Cas fans will always have passion. When the fans are in we make the best atmosphere in the league, the crowd get behind the team and sing win/lose or draw. If you dont travel across to wigan on wednesday, get down on sunday in what is now surely a must win game for us, lose and we could be out of the play offs, so lets get behind the lads!
Cas Until I Die.

| Check my Sig, WireFanatic said something quite profound when we had a similar discussion couple of years back and i loved it.
Quote fanI am not just a "fan" or a "supporter".......I am quite simply a Wire.'"
I love that

Don't forget the fanatical Cas fans who don't stand in the WRE!
I don't want to knock your support or passion for our club, and I know your intent is good, but don't start a dick measuring competition on who is the best fan because all you'll do is divide the fans. The WRE has always struggled to attract a few more fanatical vocal fans, often because some of the more vocal fans often think they are the only ones who are real fans. There are lots of fans who go home and away taking the whole family spending thousands on season tickets, shirts, mugs and the lot but they have never stepped foot in the WRE. We then see a teenager who's parents bought him a £40 season ticket and who's gran bought him a £40 shirt tell those other fans they're not doing their bit. Of course, you have tried to make the divide and ask the question of fans or supporters. This thread has been and gone before. Everyone has their own way of supporting their team. For some, getting to just a couple of games will be as demanding and they may have had to make more sacrifices than someone else who makes every game. In my opinion, it is time we united the fans rather than look for a divide.

Great post, i haven't stood in the WRE for over 15 years, but have only probably missed 2 games in that time, so i agree you don't have to stand in the WRE to be deemed a fanatical fan, that’s obviously unless i am not a proper fan.

| Just sing up and show your support for the team you follow. We all have a place for Cas in our hearts, so instead of creating a divide and talking bull, get down the lane, shout on the boys and enjoy rugby league!

Quite right, he should switch to Fev and increase their support by 10%.
Word to the wise, if you're going to tell someone to grow up try to improve your grammar beyond pre-school standard.
Also, speaking of embarrasment and suspecting you're a 'capper' take a look at some of Sky's crowd shots from your game at Barrow...talk about a combined day trip from WMDC care facilities.
