Players who want showing the door if we want to compete again at the highest level:
Newman - most overhyped/rated player we have ever produced. Not even in Vince Fawcett league. Croft - poor signing not produced the good at all, not worth any transfer fee. Frawley - just not anywhere near good enough Akers - as with Croft not worth any transfer fee O’Connor vastly superior Lisone - not even a flat track bully we were better with Sanger Bentley - worst domestic signing I have ever seen we must have better in the reserves Cameron Smith - not and never will be good enough at 13, (Gannon for me here) unless we move him to prop and see what he can do there. ECW - project taking an overseas spot. We have far better prospects who deserve the game time.
These are also some of our biggest earners as well and week in week out are some of our worse performers.
Don`t agree with your thoughts on Bentley either who might not be the barnstorming second rower we need. He most weeks tops the tackle count and if we had the barnstorming second rower alongside him would look even better. It does seem a strange move bringing in ECW though. And both Croft and Ackers were welcomed by most Leeds fans. However neither have stepped up especially Ackers.
Because year on year we keep floundering in mid table because half our team are no good and it’s the higher earners that are no good. In 2022 we had a much better squad and after Rohan Smith came in we got to the grand final with that squad. We then got rid of half the best players in that squad and brought in crap and kept crap. Players like Sutcliffe Mellor Prior Sezar Austin all deemed not good enough but all far better than what we have now.
It’s just so sickening that we seem just as far off now than we were 5 years ago. 3-4 different coaches and we are still average to terrible.
