Well our highest average gains were from Mose and then Walmsley in the forwards, other than that everyone else was much of a muchness.
Errors were very high too, Flanaghan leading the way, but there were a few up there on 2 errors. But with 13 errors from the team and 13 penalties. You can see that almost every set something was going wrong either possession with the ball or giving away field position without the ball.
A general sharing of the workload in the tackling department, but Thompson was the stand out in that department with 48. No penalties or errors from him.
Swift and Walmsley leading the way on tackle busts. But zero clean breaks and very few offloads, which kinda supports what I said about us lacking the punch to actually get through a tackle.
All in all a very tired bunch of players.
Luckily Huddersfield made 17 errors and gave 8 penalties of their own so their flow was as interrupted by their own team as ours was.
But 51 errors and penalties in a match must be almost something every set, so you can see why the whilst was blowing so much in the match.

It seems we give much more pens away this year. It's effectivley giving a team a extra 40m gain.

| Funnily enough there are no game stats on the site for the Huddersfield Saints match last year,
But for the Saints Huddersfield match in 2014 we gave 6 penalties and again 13 errors.
Just for like for like comparisons.
Against Wigan on Good Friday we gave 8 penalties and 12 errors. To be honest I'm surprised we had that many against Wigan as it seemed to be a far more intense and free flowing game.

| It was a slog in the rain, so lots of dropped ball is expected.
special mention to Luke Thompson for 48 tackles

| Looking forwards, we have a slightly easier run of games after the Leeds game and with the cushion of 3 points between us and those below. We should be able to hold 2nd for some time.
If we can put a good hit out on Leeds and knock them slightly then we are still good odds for finishing top.

| It would be great to take some points out of Leeds. But, frankly, I'm not bothered if they finish a dozen points ahead - as long as we are right up there in second spot.
Not a particularly great advert for the league structure. But it's the back end of the season that counts. A dozen point lead means nothing in the Grand Final.

| The one area of concern is our penalties conceded, we are the worse team in superleague with 91 compared to Leeds who are sitting pretty next to bottom conceding only 59.
So for Friday its completing our sets with Walsh/Burns turning the backs around on the kicks. But all this could be wasted if we give daft penalties away.

I don't think it's a co-incidence that Saints are haemorrhaging penalties whilst the organisational brains have often been missing.

How would burns, walsh and Wilkin prevent pens if they played. We are caught offside far to often and holding down to long with odd few high shots.
I don't see how having organisational players out would change this ?

I,m not sure about that, we had 3 organizers out there yesterday but managed to concede a whopping 13 penaties way above our average.
Our frustrating one alll through this season has been some good defence then giving a penalty away on the 5th tackle which gets them a kick and another 6 tackles about 10 metres from our own line. KC must know we can,t do this against top sides, it needs to be fixed amongst other technical fouls.

Get yourself to McDonalds - he was unstoppable last year in his few cameo appearances. He must've lost 2 stone now , average gain only 5m
