Is there anything the RFL, Super League, or the sport in general can do to rid itself of this man? He's making a killing pimping League players out to Union clubs and his latest idea of challenging the very integrity of contracts within the sport is just way beyond the pale. Super League needs to make a stand. His brother shouldn't be on Sky promoting the players he wants to ship to Union.

Are any of Saints' current players with this guy? I think there is a responsibility for the clubs to back Cas over this and ban their players from using him. If we have any, I'd seriously hope they're forced to get rid of him.

1. He's a cancer on our sport and the fact our main broadcaster employs his brother in its RL coverage is a farce
2. He's a good agent doing a good job for his clients who have a very limited time to earn a lifetimes wage.

Both are true, but my personal thoughts are Phil Clarke should either show his loyalty to the sport and condemn his brothers actions or resign his position

If Agent Clarke manages other sports then you could probably lean towards option 2.

Phil Clarke is a director and equal shareholder in Outside Sport Ltd - the agency representing Solomona - therefore he is equally culpable to his brother in this situation.

One feels there should be action towards Sky then. If the clubs won't do it, the fans certainly should.

If he'd followed the correct procedures here then yes. But what he's done is a direct attack on the sport. He's trying to break a legally binding contract and clearly believes by doing that that he will be successful in court. If that were the case, and you've got to remember Union will have a clear advantage in the vast majority of courts due to the social status of the sport. They will also be spending more than Cas, SL or the RFL on the case too.

Best case for league here is their actions are ruled illegal and Cas get a small payout, much smaller than the hundreds of thousands they want. Worst case is it's allowed and you've effectively got no professional game anymore.

Sean Long and Martin Gleeson did more damage to rugby league than Phil Clarke ever will yet they were revered on here.

Personally I dont see what all the fuss is about.

With Long I think you have to factor in that he is as thick as two short planks, Gleeson was the most devious of the two and hence the club got rid. Phil Clarke would have been Savvy to what was going and has done nothing wrong directly but has an unbroken link to the situation.
