| Right, let's get this out of the way and hopefully we will never see JC trying to subvert any other threads into his personal crusade.
Developing France so their national team grows.
I would happily have Toulouse in as the second club
I would also look at bringing in a quota of sorts so all SL clubs in England had to have at least 2 Frenchies on their books. The NZ National team is super strong due to the amount of their players in the NRL. The French don't have the same situation over here so we may need to manufacture something, hence the gerrymandering of quotas. Two full time teams playing to a high standard full of French players would be good but the pool for the rep teams would need to be larger. 40 players does not a national team make.
How would this happen? Don't know, open to ideas. Toulouse could reappear in league one and challenge for the split round to end up in the SL2 section and then work upwards. Unfortunately in a league that now has done with franchising they can;t be plopped into SL direct.
To have a strong French team would be wonderful.
To have other threads not morphing into JC's personal crusade would be just as good.
JC, here's your thread. Use this and accept that we all might want to talk about other things without you trying to go off topic.

I would wait until there is evidence that the Superleague involvement of Catalan Club is improving the quality and quantity of French rugby league players.

| You can't force clubs to have French players, but some sort of incentive would be a good idea. For example French players under 23 don't count on the cap, or some sort of bonus paid to clubs who sign and give games to young French talent.

| I just hope that Wigan have a good amount of scouting going on in the French leagues already, we've done well picking up Welsh talent and should learn from that. Hopefully that is the case and we can find the next Escaré, English teams certainly missed the boat on that one, he's going to be a real star.

Really?
I'd say it's because NZ kids don't get a wendyball or a soccer kit for their first birthday's.....they get an egg shaped inflatable. Rugby (of either code) rips the out of soccer here and in 'stralia......and BTW...you telling Ian Lenegan et al that they must have 2 white flag waving surrender monkeys eating up some of their salary cap isn't going to go down well either!

| Developing the french game and even adding Toulouse as a second team in the league structure is important, probably the best way to develop the game internationally in the northern hemisphere.
Quotas are a terrible idea, no one will go for that.
Allow Toulouse into SL2 or even SL3 but thr RFL help all teams with travel costs there out of their big new payday.
If they prove good enough, they can climb the league(s) and get promoted.
Maybe give them some sort of allowance towards quota players etc, but it'd be nice if they could have mostly French Players.
