Got to say I wasn't a fan at first, but after 2 years of it I can't deny that it has produced some big moments.

Last year you had the dramatic scenes of Leeds winning the League leaders, this year we've had Leigh promoted, another last day shootout for the league leaders and the incredible drama of todays game going to Golden Point.

Yes theres a few things that could still be tweaked, timings of the League leaders sheild and the schedule of the Cup can be debated, but in terms of delivering big moments and media coverage for RL its delivering more than the old licencing structure IMO.

The only problem is the lack of excitement in the top 8.

As for the million pound game, Rovers finished 12th. If the structure wasn't there, they'd have gone down. They had a second chance and it was damn exciting.

Only after 22 rounds. We've had at least 27 rounds for years now.

That doesn't really make any sense to be honest. Either Huddersfield finished 12th out of the SL sides as they were bottom after 23 rounds or Salford because they were the lowest placed SL side in the 8's.

They finished 4th in the middle 8 at the end of the season. Had it been a normal full season, it would mean 12th. In every other season since Super League started, the club at the bottom after 22 rounds did not go down, because the season is longer than that.

You could just as easily have 4th in the middle 8's go down and Rovers still go down. Huddersfield clambered off the bottom towards the end of the season.

A more common sense structure would be 12th after 27 rounds has a play-off against the top Championship club, if you want drama. It would have kept the excitement for the play-offs.

Is there only a limited amount of excitement available or allowed ? , and it is only allowed at the top of SL ?

I would do a play-off between bottom 2 SL and top 2 Championship.

11th vs 2nd
12th vs 1st
Winners play each other in MPG

And a return of the top 5/6 play-off system.

The point was that there wasn't any in the top 8. Keeping the play-offs until after 27 rounds would have preserved some of that. Have a play-off against the best Championship club and you get it there too, as well as not consigning clubs like the Bulls to near-bankruptcy.

This year it was skewed slightly by how good Leigh were. Most likely, the future will involve a Super League club and a Championship club.

Yes, me too, although the maths doesn't fit. If you did that, the league would be down to 11 teams the year after, as you'd lose the two losers plus the loser of the MPG. Something like that though, if it could be worked out.
