of course its a marking ploy but surely if your a salford fan you'd be thinking what have I paid a season ticket for or even why they should pay on the day when some can just walk in for free as they hold a bury season ticket

As for anything positive I wouldn't expect anything from the RL Fans "FAMILY"

Do you really think Salford RLFC gain a huge amount out of this? Any Bury/Bolton fans that turn up won't be putting any money in our coffers (even food/drink sales go to the stadium management company) so there is no financial gain. The media exposure is minimal to say the least and I'm sure anyone that does take advantage of the offer is unlikely to be rushing to sign up for a Salford season ticket anytime soon. Likewise I can hardly see those spotting the gesture through Social Media etc suddenly clamouring to the AJ Bell because of our amazing generosity.



Maybe, just maybe, the club are trying to do their bit to help local fans of other sports in their hour of need (although Bolton appear to have a stay of execution for now)? We've invited people down before on freebies (family racially abused in Salford/Armed Forces Day etc) so it's not a first and I hope it won't be the last.

As for Salford Season Ticket holders having their noses put out of joint, I can't see it being an issue. Doesn't bother me one bit as I pay to support my team and will do so regardless. I've always felt we're a family club so fully endorse anything the club does to support local communities.

Every club do a promo of some sort during the season (even Wakey). Kids-for-a-quid, invite-a-friend ect. It's called [utrying to get new support[/u. I hope any Bury or Blackburn fans attending catch the RL bug. They might even be tempted to watch RL on a regular basis - which IMO can only be a good thing.

Why would Blackburn fans be going?

I wondered if they, perhaps, should have opened it up to all FL Championship season ticket holders - since they've all lost 1 game worth of value out of their ST with Bury folding?

Wonder if they'll be giving their fans partial refunds?
