I'm a rovers fan but don't have any connections. Used to be a ST holder years ago, and I'm guessing after a ticket for the weekend. Personally I hope we stuff them, guarantee our league status and shut them lot up for at least another week.

I remember when Blackburn used to challenge for league titles. Funny how things turn out, isn't it?

Not funny but unfortunately times do change and we've gone turd! Cash is king in football, it's only a matter of when, not if, City overtake Salford in the years to come.
If only we could bring back Uncle Jack...

Not sure its inevitable that City will overtake United. Overtaking the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham is one thing but overtaking United or even Chelsea/Arsenal will be difficult for City.

Once you have 'enough' to compete then the benefit of having extra cash lessens. You can only have so many players, and City will start running into the problems that other wannabes who have tried to break into the top table have found, the players they need to take them to the next level are already at top clubs who won't sell them to City.

I don't think United will be toppled by a team putting together a side of galacticos of ready made great players, the team unit just isn't there, which has always been Real's problem compared to Barca for instance.

If you look at the teams who took titles off United, they had money but it was because they had a top manager who signed maybe lesser known names with potential, and moulded them into a winning unit at those clubs. Blackburn did that, given that Jack Walker had a lot of money, he wasn't signing galactico names like Lineker, Gascoigne, Le Tissier, the Laudrup brothers. Dalglish got in guys like Shearer, Sherwood, Hendry, Flowers, Le Saux, who were all players with potential but not big names...even Shearer, when he signed, had a couple of England caps and was about a 10 goal a season player. Wenger at Arsenal did the same signing the likes of Vieira, Ljungberg, Pires, Henry, who all became stars at Arsenal rather than being ready made finished articles. And I think you can say the same about Mourinho's Chelsea.

You're right, cash is king in football. Unlike the good old days when Blackburn won the league.
