| Maybe they would make an announcement to explain why council money has been spent having roller shutters fitted to the stadium at the corners and yet they have never to my knowledge been used ?

| Quote mr. chairman="mr. chairman"SENT ON BEHALF OF SHAUN CURRIE, SAFETY OFFICER
Dear Partner,
The continuing development of the Leigh Sports Village has seen an increase in the number of visitors to the many facilities that are on offer. This increase has resulted in greater demand for parking close to the facility being visited, which has resulted in an abuse of the disabled parking bays, the drop-off and pick-up areas, bus lay-bys and the turning circle at the end of Sale Way.
LSV Co have received a number of complaints relating to indiscriminate parking and, having investigated these complaints, have become concerned about the increased risks to the safety of visitors and the restricted access to emergency service vehicles caused by parking in non-designated areas. In addition, the LSV Co are committed to providing facilities for disabled visitors and will not tolerate parking in designated disabled parking bays by non-disabled persons. This practice is offensive and demonstrates a blatant disregard for the Disability Discrimination Act.
The LSV Co has worked in partnership with yourselves to resolve this issue by politely requesting that visitors comply with site parking rules. Fortunately, the majority of visitors are compliant but there remains a minority who continue to abuse the rules. Therefore, the LSV Co have found it necessary, in the interests of safety and respect for disability, to secure the services of a private ticketing company to enforce the parking rules across the site.
It is our intention to implement this process from 1st October 2009 and the required Securities Industries Act approved signs will be erected at appropriate locations to warn visitors of the consequences of parking in contravention of site rules and we ask that you put up notices at your respective facilities advising your customers of the implementation date and the requirement to park in the designated areas and, when necessary, to display disabled badges.
Many thanks for your anticipated co-operation.
Shaun Currie
Safety Officer

Every word, every phrase reeks of vintage "bureaucratic jobsworth"
Is this what LSV is really all about?

| maybe if they gave us a decent amount of parking in the first place
did the original plans show the site as only having 20 parking spaces?

| Parking tiockets issued on private land or sites do not have the same deinition in law as do parking tickets given out by police or local authority.
When a car is ticketed it is the DRIVER not the OWNER (reg keeper) who is liable to pay.
ONLY THE POLICE under the Road Traffic act have the power to REQUIRE the owner of a ticketed vehicle to disclose who the driver was at the time.
Therefore if you get a ticket ask them to tell you who the driver was, or better still ignore it and argue in court.
They give these tickets out knowing that the majority will pay to save the bother of arguing it out.
THEY ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TO POLICE OR LOCAL AUTHORITY ISSUED PARKING ENFORCEMENT TICKETS.
That is how I read the case law on the matter unless you know different?
I am not in any way condoning that people park in the disabled bays at the LSV - I too am registered disabled and park in them, its just that it is the usual smokescreen by private land owners, now if the 'clamped' the vehicles well thats a whole different ball game.
Here endeth todays law lecture must get on and finish building my shed

| They should make 90% of the spaces disabled and 10% not because most of the cars these days have a disabled badged in the window, and I've never seen any of them in a wheel chair.
I think I'll go on EBay and get one myself.

| Well i applaud this ,it makes me angry to see people taking up the disabled spaces just because its nearer to where they are going with no thought of the people who really need them.I know the badges can be and are abused and this needs to be looked into more thoroughly. We have disabled parking outside our house and it infuriates me when people park in it with little or no regards to us .

| I've no problem with this, but just how many disabled bays does the stadium really need?
There must 30 of them outside the West Stand alone.
