| Just sat through it and did some analysis.
19 minutes Wigan leading 8 - 6 and Feka and Fielden come on straight after Wire first try.
Wire score again on the next set of six.
21 minutes Bailey off Wigan concede a penalty
Wire score in the next set.
Wire have the ball for another set but don't score so Wigan eventually get the ball.
On the last the referee penalises Richards for being offside from Sams kick. Watch it again Richards was not offside.
Wire get another set of six deep on Wigans half.
Wigan get the ball back and Briers obstructs Richards, no penalty?
First tackle Wire get a penalty and go down the field to score.
Feka goes off on 30 minutes
To summarise
In that 11 minute spell
Wire had the ball 29 times
Wigan had it 12 times.
Wigan lost Phil Bailey.
Wigan conceded 3 penalties (one was a wrong decision)
Wigan conceded 4 tries.
Feka is there to drive the ball, he can't do it when the other side are gifted possession.
The loss of Bailey was immense.

Which begs the question, was it a good idea to play him at all? Mossop is a more than adequate replacement, but BN opted for the older model, even though he hadn't properly recovered from injury.

| Monaghan (and the rest of the Wire team) caned Feka in defence during that 11 minute spell - gaining easy yards up field just by running round him. He also didnt contribute anything going forward at all during that spell, apart from 1 run for about 2 yards.
As soon as a team is on the backfoot, it is inevitable that penalties occur - causing more lost yards downfield, and the cycle continued.
Had Feka not come on, things may have been different.

| The Bailey injury (achilles) wasn't connected to his previous injury though, was it? Think that was just bad luck, he went down like a sniper had shot him. I think he'll be missed for the remainder of the season from a leadership POV.

Good analysis.
Could I be cheeky and ask for you to do a similar analysis for the 20-25 minutes after Tompkins had been incorrectly awarded a try after a forward pass. Longest 20-25 minutes of my life. Nails will take months to recover!

Totally seperate injuries though and he looked to have recovered from his dead leg in the first 15 minutes when he even scored a try.
The new injury was just bad luck.
Mossop should have played imo but it should have been ahead of Harrison Hansen or in hindsight Feka.
I said Hansen during the week leading upto the game and he did nothing in it to change my mind that he's the weakest backrower in the first team squad including Mossop and Flanagan.

Loosing Bailey, having a part time front row (ie when coley and prescott went off), makes the decision to play lockers in such a tough game a bad one.
However in Nobbys defence, you cant legislate for injuries like Baileys, or the fact the fielden and feka will be so woefull..
However im never a big fan of making two prop changes at once, as your bringing on two "cold" props. Especially when that is wires strongest part of the field.
I said on another thread, control the front row and we win the game. I still think this is key on friday, however they may take their eye of the league now.
If feka and fielden have anything about them it should be a brast-a-thon on friday night, however i wont be holding my breath!

I think Feka may well respond, but Fielden won't, if/when he plays he'll get slapped around like he has in pretty much every game this season.

For me what fielden needs to do is have a punch up. As soon as anyone gives him a bit of lip, smack like he used to, (jason smith springs to mind) win loose or draw, it may make people sit up and take a bit of notice.
Just go out for the next two-three matches, and aim for a dust up a game! I know its really unproffesional, but at the moment he not even a shadow of his former self!

When we kicked the penalty to make in 8 - 0 he should have come on then.
8 - 0 up in a semi kick off give to feka begins a roll on

| It's quite obvious. Feka shouldn't have played. He was a major contributor to us losing the game. We fell apart once he came on.
