does have a point though! However I do feel we are going to be seeing the eventual finalists in action on friday, very impressive wire today but obviously attacking against wigans defence is a whole different proposition to quins!

It's not must win for either team but I think it helped us immensely last year to lead from 1st. I think rather than the Challenge Cup, it was having to chase and chase and chase and chase Wigan down for 1st than mentally wore down Warrington at the back end of the year and then losing 2nd on the last day of the season demoralised them further.

Same with Leeds. I know they won at Wigan in the play offs but they didn't have the legs even after a week off because they'd been chasing fourth so long.

Warrington have a chance to get control of first place on Friday and it'll be hard for Wigan to chase them down, especially being a game behind at the moment. It would put pressure us going to Leeds the week after to get a result (not easy no matter how poor Leeds look defensively at moment), win and the pressure is off going to Leeds. That's the different and that's what Warrington didn't do last year compared to Wigan.

I just dont get excited about wigan v wire games like i do for saints or leeds..maybe thats just me.

I'm not so sure. You look back in recent home games and despite being champions it's pretty poor stuff from Wigan. Just look back, Michael Maguire does not have a good record in big games at DW Stadium!

Like your mod said on another topic, don't want this to be another d1ck measuring thread. But MILES ahead of anyone? Do you really believe that? Your squad is arguably slightly better than wires, but you can only play 17 of them just like your opposition. If you think you are miles ahead of wire you are kidding yourself as the games between the 2 at the moment are 50/50 and will probably be decided on injuries or a little bit of luck.
