I hope they play Hock as a prop and put Farrell in the final 17 with Goulding and Tuson to miss out for me.

The turnaround for this game is 5 days, so it's just like playing on a Sunday and then on a Friday, which happens a few times so the players should have no problems. Since the Harlequins game is only 3 days after, that is the one where I think players like Carmont, Deacon and a couple of the forwards will need a rest. Mellor should get a chance at Quins, but I have my doubts as to whether Madge will do that.

I'm not so sure. I'm not convinced he can do anything really with ball in hand anymore but I do think our last tackle is all the poorer when he isn't on the field. This was shown on Friday I think when he was off during the second half. I don't want Tommy being involved in the kicking game, he's rubbish at it! |

Whether Deacon's on the pitch or not. One thing Wigan haven't done much of this year are grubber kicks into the in goal area. Leeds scored two against using that tactic, and Cas a similar amount a few weeks earlier. No matter how strong an oppositions defense is, the grubber kick is some what indefensible.
Yet I can't think of the last time we scored a try from a grubber kick. It's always the bomb to the corner we finish with. |
