Kicking game is key. Little kicks in behind Lineham for Tierney to chase. Lineham has the turning circle of a Virgin Pendolino. High bombs up to Russell for Charnley and Gelling to contest.

I'd bring Flower in for Shorrocks and leave Powell on for the full 80. I think it will be Flower for Bretherton though.

Lockers not even a chance then! Who will be captain, Farrell? Bretherton and Wells to miss out for me, we need Shorrocks on the bench even if he is only there to cover for injuries. Wire learned the hard way in the 2013 Grand Final what can happen if you stick four forwards on the bench.

Bateman is adequate cover for a backs injury.

Matty Smith is captain.

Smith will be captain.

Agreed, but he isn't adequate cover for an injury in the halves or hooker. If (god forbid) we lose Williams, Smith or Powell early and don't have Shorrocks on the bench, we are knackered. It's not like Wire don't have form for trying to take our halves out either (Westwood on Green, Sims on Williams)

But arguably high kicks to Tierney and Sarginson could be our ploy.
As a wire fan I'm excited about match ups all over the park.

Gelling / Atkins will be very interesting.
