| Hastings with Watson coming in. French has been completely anonymous in the last few games bar 20 mins against Warrington. Think his head might already be elsewhere. See... Ben Barba

French's effort last Friday was outstanding.
As for his head being elsewhere, he loves it at Wigan and day in day out has been nothing but professional.
If he does go home at the end of this year he will have given us everything and his best week in week out.
People need to remember that players choices arent always about the club etc, sometimes difficult choices have to be made and from what I'm aware hes having to make a difficult one, that may not necessarily be the best for his career, but is deffo the right one for him and family.

I appreciate your post Juke, I didn't start this subject with a view to anyone slagging either player off, it was designed to get opinions on which player could offer most to the team in 2021. Individuals don't win games on their own it is a team effort and each player, in the squad, will have something to contribute. It is impossible for a player to play at the top of his form each week, on very rare occasions a player will be excellent but more often than not they produce an average performance, it is the collective effort that produces a win or a loss.
I hope that both stay but if Bevan returns to Australia due to family reasons then so be it, family is much more important than rugby league. Whatever his decision, I will be happy that he has donned our famous colours it is just a pity we couldn't have witnessed him playing at the DW more often. He is a cracking lad and will be sorely missed on and off the field, I hope he changes his mind but if not, I wish him all the best.

| Just said he has been anonymous for the past few games... which for me he has. Seems very reluctant to go as first receiver recently when the game is stretched as if he is trying to protect himself. I wasn't bagging him. He has earned the right to have a few off games. Hope it improves.

| It's disappointing that both players have been in our team during a pandemic. Just like us fans would have loved to have seen both players plying their trade in the flesh it works both ways. Maybe this disconnection is perhaps the main reason Hastings has had a bit of a rough ride on social media (twitter) from some Wigan fans and thus responded.

I can’t help but imagine what a game and a win at somewhere like Saints away would’ve done for his relationship with the supporters. He’d have lapped it up and the fans would’ve lapped up his reaction.
I don’t think there will be much point speculating on who we’d rather stay if we had the choice of one because it seems highly likely both are going.

| Wigan have given Bevan French a boost by coming to Wigan he has put his career in the spotlight in Australia he was playing reserve grade rugby. We have all enjoyed Bevan's rugby but the bottom line his family live in Australia and his roots are there lets just be glad he gave us some thrilling months of his speed and try scoring ability .If he has signed for an Australian club i think every one of us would thank him for his time in Wigan and wish him the best of luck.

| Yes, agreed. And purely in the spirit of a parlour game, cos it looks like we will lose them both, on balance, I would have rather kept French.
