Glad we have signed a half. I'm still concerned about the position though. Maybe easier said than done but someone experienced to go alongside Smith is what we really needed rather than an inexperienced pairing IMO. I know some will point to Leuluai when I'm calling for an experienced halfback but he's not good enough anymore unfortunately. A guy with 26 first team appearances should be squad number 20odd trying to fight his way into the 17, not walking into the 13 as our main halfback.

Good young fella. Played for the Aboriginal All Stars team last season. Has played more at hooker than half over the last couple of seasons, but a very good half.
This was his first game this season in reserve grade for Manly in 2021. 3 tries, 2 try assists,

Anybody got a list of games he played in last season for Manly per chance? NRL web page doesn't seem to be up to date for him (unusual for NRL), saying he only played 2 games in 2020 and that's it which isn't correct.
I have an NRL 360 subscription, so will go back and watch some of his games from last season and see how he goes. Cheers.

I know what you’re saying and to an extent I agree, but ultimately it’s time for Smith to sink or swim and he needs to be given that opportunity to do either. I don’t know Cust, what he’s like or how good he is but I’ve yet to read any negative comments about him and most seem surprised we’ve landed him in fairness. I’m intrigued about Field and where he now slots in, it could be that he goes, or that Tommy goes or even that French goes and Field replaces him. The next move will be controversial, albeit unavoidably controversial. |
