Danny Cowling confirmed as a Halifax player. Lost a good one there who was never given enough chances in my opinion.

Have known Danny since he was a nipper, I agree he did not get enough first team chances.

Maybe someone in the know can fill us in on why.

A real shame, showed a lot of potential in the two games he got. Still if he'd been given the same opportunities as some of the other non club trained younger player's he may have stuck around. Hopefully Trinity will learn from this..

Sadly I think it was obvious that Danny was going to end up leaving. I can't remember how many times I (and others) said that if we didn't give him some games we would inevitably lose him at the end of his contract.
Gutted to lose a home-grown player that looks like he could go on to be a decent SL player given some opportunities.
I don't profess to be a coach but I thought, in what little we'd seen of him at first team leve,l he looked like he would make the step up.

Let's just hope that this is another lesson learned and that the improvements we are now seeing in the current Junior development means that this sort of thing doesn't happen as often in the future.

Im sure there are better judges of players than me, so can anyone explain how aside from coming from RA's previous club, Reece Lynne got/gets the chances he had and Danny didnt??

Completely agree with this.
I'm not suggesting that DC is any better than RL, just that RL has shown himself to be at best average and yet DC has had few opportunities to prove himself.
I think we are continuing to miss a trick and in light of squad cost saving efforts going on presently, maybe two tricks??

I believe Molloy got more games to show what he can do (not minutes) than Cowling.

Reap what you sow with Mr Agar. Molloy got his chance when he was miles short. Yet Cowling won us the game against Sts 2 years ago a kid thrown in a game we needed to win. He was fantastic up against World class opponents. Now he is on his way to Halifax we should of gave him more chances. Such a shame. Looked very promising.

did I read somewhere that it was to do with the fact he is going to Uni and will effectively be part time? or is that someone else?

Shame he isn't staying and playing in the centre for us but sometimes there's more to these things and a full-time career in RL may not be all its cracked up to be.

How was the weather in Italy?
