Not a bad team over all.
Personally I'd have Leuluai in the centres ahead of Yeaman. I'd probably have Topliss over Horne and Id go for Carvell over Skerritt.

Toppo over horne without a doubt. The best 6 i have ever seen play for Hull. Total class.

these threads are impossible, different players in different times, was Swain better than Jackson, Briscoe more valuavle than Eastwood, and as for Cleal, he was one of the biggest let downs ever (after Alan Hunte), have we ever had a fullback better than Prescott (yes, we have, but the man is a giant for his determination), could Bunting have coached in the SL era, could Vaikona have scored as many tries today.

what would be a lot easier is posting the worst FC team ever, but I don't want to drag up memories that bad!

The worst was suprisingly easy as we had a plethora of gash from the late eighties through to the naughties

Portlock was ace and single handedly kept us in the Regal Trophy one year when we were being smashed at home by Batley
As for 2 Bobs, he was super, table chucking aside, he had it all, could (with the right attitude) have been up there as one of the best.

It is hard to judge because the game is so different. In reality our reserves of today would destroy even our best sides of the 70' s and 80' s. It doesn't make those guys bad players, but today's game is so much quicker with emphasis on different things. They wouldn't live with the pace.

Portlock was gash. I remember that cup game he scored the only try in a shocking 12-10 win then he broke his neck at Halifax IIR.
2bobs I did quite like but he had a hot head and tried some 0% Pass/Offloads. Plus I couldn't think of another LF.

You are right but look at it like they were in the here and now. Full time with all the same coaching, training equipment etc as today's SL teams.

Bit harsh on Tomlinson. He broke his leg in his 3rd or 4th game for Hull and never played for us again.

Donaghue did ok for us in our 1997 promotion season.
