this job was always too big for Radford, he should have gone to a smaller club to learn his trade first. With the lack of confidence we have, the poor style of play and in-balanced squad it always needed an experienced coach.

Pearson can't failed to have notice the small crowd today (the 10,200 announced was a complete joke, they must have counted all the passholders who didn't attend, all the sponsors on the sponsor list etc looked more like 8K to me) and he certainly can't have failed to have heard the loud boos and the end from the few fans who lasted until the final whistle.

In fairness, Rankin has more career game time at 1 than 6 I think.

He has, but was a game in conditions like today's really the best time to change the fullback. Would have been better to have played Shaul there and then have Rankin on the bench instead of Crooks due to his bigger size and impact.

When the rumours first started circulating that Radford might be appointed, I thought it was a poor joke instigated by a mischievious Rovers supporter. When it actually came to pass, I was deeply concerned that we'd find ourselves in this very situation.

We had a few very poor performances under Gentle, most notablty Huddersfield and Wigan. We also had a 6th place finish, a play off win and a Challenge Cup final appearance. I'm not saying he was definitely the answer in the long term, but I'll be staggered if we manage to improve on Gentle's last season in charge this year.

Too early to be getting rid. 10-13 games in is a better time to look at how things are going.

But surely with Shaul and McDonnel already at the club, Rankin was recruited to play in the halves?
