| There's been a lot of comments on here bemoaning Radford before we had even played a competitive match. Well, now we have, and as quick as some might be to talk about the coach had we lost, a chunk of credit should go to him after a win too.
A few points I'd like to make about him based on the game today:
- He showed guts not selecting a hooker on the bench when many teams would/do, and it paid off.
- Identified what we needed to do to stop Brough playing, and it worked a treat.
- We look very fit.
- Interchanges were spot on.
- The commitment, desire and togetherness is there in the team that wasn't there for most of 2014.
- Defensively we were pretty good.
By no means is today a reason to get carried away. Huddersfield while solid, didn't offer too much in attack (and there's plenty for us to improve on too). Overall I'm pretty happy and I can see plenty of things to be optimistic about. Credit where it's due to the players, and the coach

| Lets not get carried away, but yes lots to feel optimistic about, playing an hooker for 80 mins is no master stroke ha, plenty of teams still do it, and I'd be happy to see Danny play 80 mins week In week out, personally think he can , brilliant today , if radford can get them up for every game like that , I'll be happy win or lose , just got back and really enjoying this beer, job well done hull fc

I did wonder about the use of Paea but thought this worked out well. Thompson freshened it up in the middle too - really like him off the bench.

| Game plan spot on today and a real gritty performance, togetherness in the team and always seemed to be someone available when we were looking to offload in the tackle. Very impressive but one swallow......
This is now Radders team so no excuses, I really want him to succeed but at least another 5 games before I start getting too excited, we've been here before.
Anyway top of the league and a titanic battle to look forward to against second placed Wire on Fri night, bring it on!

| Good thread. Balances what would have been an inevitable RADFORD OUT thread had we lost.

| Today was efficient and professional. A genuine team effort. The only thing I would question was leave Sa on the field when he was clearly struggling.

| Didn't go today due to prior commitments but got to give everyone a pat on the back as everything I've read has been positive.
Haven't read reports or heard any commentary but was our tactics :
Westy on the ball taking us forward, challenging the
markers with an option of Watts or Bowden
Use of the guard and shift play to the right eventually finding room for Minni ,Thompson or Shaul out the back
Don't kick to Mcgilvary were possible, put everything down Broughtons side with a quick chase
Wind Brough up and play at his area in attack , targeting him Ferres and Wardle

| I'm sure Radders will be as happy about the result and the performance as we are but he wont be getting carried away and neither should we.

| I still don't think he is the man for the job going forward but I want us to win so well done to LR & the team. He got us playing to a strategy that worked, keep the silly pens down & be tight as a drum against Warrington and hopefully we'll get something out of it.
1 win down nilling the opposition is as good a start as we could hope for so the players will be bouyed immensely but let's not start getting the bunting out just yet.
