| To accommodate lee smith reading [url=http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Lee-Smith-s-Hull-FC-future-hangs-derby-date-Hull/story-28544034-detail/story.htmlTHIS[/url
So who will be making way? Has to be a player who can get a contract elsewhere as I can;t see us paying someone off so who? Wouldn't be surprised if it's rich whiting but maybe shaul if the rumours are true? Personally I think we have enough average backs and can't see any point in bringing another one in for the sake of it

| I think it could be players on a season long loan, I personally don't see the need for signing Lee Smith as we have plenty of cover at FB and on the wings, Ok he can play centre also, but is he much better than Whiting or Yeaman there.
My worry is that if he signed he could potentially hold back a player like Lancaster and Naughton who are our future.

| Would be gutted in one sense to see Whiting leave, but I doubt he will get much game time this year (injury permitting). Maybe its for the best for both parties.
How do the loans work with salary cap, as that could be another option for some of the younger guys?

| I find it utterly incomprehensible that we're even considering signing Lee Smith.
WTH is going through Radford's mind?

My gut feeling is that he doesn't trust Shaul (don't know why tbh). He has taken him out of the team a few times now, most notably last year when he replaced him with Rankin. But like you say I don't quite get it especially if it means someone has to leave!

He signed a new one year deal in June, Bradford didn't play in the Million Pound game until September, so he would have been under contract at Hull, so doubt that to be true.

| I still can't understand why we have to release players to accommodate Smith. Shortly after Westerman was sold Pearson stated on RH that he was going to invest the money on a quality outside back and Carney was a possibility if he fitted in with the rest of the squad. If we have anything left on the cap I think we should hold on to it in the event of an injury to Houghton.

| Forgive my ingnorance but what are the rules with regardss to u23s. Are we able to play overage players.
I would see Whiting as the ideal man to captain that side and lead them around the park and be the calming head / coach on the park.

Maybe cash, and not cap, is the issue, with pass sales down 1000. Perhaps that wasn't foreseen when we were entertaining Carney.

| The bottom line is we are massively top heavy in forwards and there are question marks rergarding a number of our supposed first choice back line.
Who honestly knows how the likes of Tuimavave are going to go and to a lesser extent Fonua. Talanoa has had niggling injuries for a lot of last season and Logan is still a rookie. I personally feel that Lancaster will break in at some point this season if he stays fit but he's another to be plagued.
So i can see why Radders is genuinly interested in Smith. He's only 29 and can offer us real flexibility.
Whiting shouldnt go anywhere. The club will find a post for him when he does hang his boots up if there's any justice or foresight. You don't need pace to be a top coach
