Well worth taking a chance on. Big, powerhouse wingman who is a great yard-maker and can bust tackles like a second-rower. He's also a great catcher of a high ball on attack. His only drawbacks are a slight tendency for brainfarts in defence, and a slight lack of speed - he's no slouch, but maybe not quite quick enough for SL. Good luck Alex!

The type of big bruising wingman we have needed (Ryan Hall type) for a while, well worth the chance he has been handed.

Just typed in Alex Brown - Highlights in you tube and i have to say he looks a strong guy with a fair bit of pace as well.
Some of the Batley fans say he may have an issue with some high balls in SL but hopefuly in a full time environment its an area of his game that he can improve on, he certainly could be one for the future, how old is he?.

Is this the lad who scored the winner in the NRC final a couple of years back? (when Batley beat Widnes). Obviously I have seen nowt of Batley, but I remember the winger having a belter that day.

Best keep a lid on it and see how he goes rather than attemting to trumpet every signing as a future international. Besides, as frankie points out, the last 2 are already there!

Where does anyone label him the next Uate on the other forum? One poster does say comparison with him and Uate is inevitable and another says he hopes people don't think every winger Rovers sign is another Uate.
