Following on from the discussion on the New Kit thread I thought this deserved a thread of it's own.

Assuming that Leeds were given a total of 20 rings when they won the Grand Final.

17 would go to the players that actually played in the final but who would you give the remaining 3 rings to?

Brian Mc for turning an average performing team into champions in a matter of a hand full of games? What about Piggy Lowes for being a contributing factor to the success?
Senior for his contribution to the season and as a farewell gift or how about the youngsters, Watkins, Pitts or McShane?

Who would be your 3 that most warrant the GF bling?

Thought it was more than 20.

Surely Pitts, McShane, and Watkins would be long before Senior in the list. Senior had his contract terminated before we even achieved a play off place, let alone getting to and winning the final.

Hauraki as 18th man would be the 18th one on the list I would have thought.

I think Senior, Watkins & Hauraki, I was under the impression the team received 25 though, but I could be wrong.

Why would Senior, and for that matter Watkins, get one before Pitts and McShane?

Billy Watts will get one. He's in everything except a $hit sandwich!

They've both played more league games than Pitts. McShane has played more, however.

I think it would be daft for the RFL to only give out 20 rings, in a sport where they have specified the need for a 25 man squad, and where most clubs will use that many players.

I know in the premier league winners medals for league titles were handed out to anyone playing more than the qualifying amount of games, which I think used to be only 5, hense why David Batty gave his back

Theres a two game difference. The key is contributing to the achievement. And like I said earlier, Seniors for example had his contract terminated long before we even got to the play offs.

Wonder what rewards there are for the backroom staff. Meirion Jones and Jason Davidson seem to have done a hell of a job this season. Maybe they deserve rings for getting so many of them the players back fit for the 'business end'

From RFL Competition Rules:
B3:25 The winners of the Super League Minor Premiership shall be awarded a trophy. The winners
of the Super League Grand Final shall be awarded the Super League trophy and twenty five
Grand Final winners’ rings for their players and officials. Clubs may apply to SLE to purchase
additional medals in exceptional circumstances only.

The kind thing to do would be to send the spare one's to the Warrington squad.

Or maybe one to James Graham as a sort of Bon Voyage gift.
