| Ambler was not considered as worthy of a place in the Leeds team as Cross was....and along with Amor is still isn't considered worthy enough above our 'solid' signing, Griffin.... ????
Can anybody catergorically state that the club always knows best ?? Two young(er) props sidelined by older guys with bags more abilitities ?....go figure.
Admittedely Moore does seem to offer more than the other 'old timers' but are we also now going to see Singleton sidelined in the same manner as Ambler and Amor for this questionable better valued 'experience'?
[iOf the existing first choice forwards - if we must persist with the same faces - I would again suggest Delaney is better material for the front row; Bailey better for the back row.[/i

| I don't think Ambler is the necessary quality and I've yet to see anything from Kyle Amor that would suggest he'll be getting called back in a couple of months. Peacock has been steady while kyle Leuluai has looked our best forward in some games yet innefective in others. Griffin has just been there, nothing more nothing less. I'd say the forwards that give us most go forward are Bailey and Moore on current form. If I was picking four for the Wigan game I'd go with Peacock,Leuluai, Bailey and Moore.

With regards to Luke Ambler, I definitely think the club knows best. He hardly pulled up many trees during his spell at Quins, and is now at Halifax where I'd imagine he's doing a solid enough job without being spectacular.
As for Amor, I would like to see us use the option to take him back and see what he can do. I thought at the start of the season he should have been kept instead of signing Richard Moore - but have been pleasantly surprised at RM's form when he's been in the team.

| TBH Griffin started like a house on fire, then sttled down and I thought, he is everything I hoped Cross would be last year. Amor looks to be going strong at Wakey and Ambler looked decent, but I always thought he lacked that mean streak needed to thrive in the front row.
Bailey should be at Loose forward and I honestly think Delaney would give the same effort/do the same job no matter where you put him.
Moore is definatley the most impactful and that puts him ahead of Ambler Amor and Griffin in my book. I think looking at Mcdermotts selections barring injury we will, at least for this year see JP and Kylie with Bailey and Moore off the bench.
I wouldnt worry about Singo, not even Mcdermott could struggle to see how well he is developing, but not many props can come in and dominate, or even play at SL level consistently at the age of twenty. not everyone is Sam Burgess or James Graham

I did pitch Ambler versus Cross .....you think Cross offered more ?
We'll never know now of course what Ambler might have done if allowed some time alongside a then younger Peacock.

| The Sky commentary at the weekend appeared keen to describe Amor as the former Leeds player at every opportunity.

Cross was an awful signing that obviously never worked out, slow (even for a prop) and a penalty machine. Luckily the club realised this quickly, cut their losses and got rid.
Once he was gone (followed soon after by Luke Burgess as it turned out), if Ambler was good enough he'd have been recalled from Quins and played the rest of the season. He wasn't, so that says to me that he just doesn't have what it takes to cut it at a top SL club.

| To be fair it wasn't as if Cross was around for too long, and Griffin has already fallen down the pecking order behind a deserving Moore.
I think a more appropriate comparison is Pitts versus Clarkson from this season.

He's not all there, a liability, technically awful, tryless, pointless, 30+ year old rookie, journey man - but he can do wonders with paving.
Ben Cross at least shows just because you've got the frame and tank, doesn't mean you can play rugby.

| A mate of mine who watches a lot of championship games, says that Ambler looks a pretty promising player, and has looked very impressive.
By contrast, says he has seen Dewsbury play twice and doesn't have the same view of Singleton. Which is surprising. Personally I thought Dewsbury was the wrong club to send Singleton to anyway.
With regards Amor, I already stated my view at season start, that people need to put that one to bed.
I also stated before season start that Moore could turn out a good signing for us after a while, and I have not been let down yet. Griffin started off well but just seems to have lost it since. I think in Griffins case it is a case of too little minutes too often. He would produce better with longer stints and then rotated for rest.
The go forward comment is very debatable. Bailey gives us no go forward as yardage, and is in the team for different qualities to that.
