Personally I think we made a big mistake moving from 14 to 12 teams in Super League. Hull kr, Bradford, Halifax, London, Toulouse and Toronto all have the potential to sustain a Super League club and it makes no sense restricting the number to 12 to me. The RFL should hold their hands up and change back to 14 teams.

If anything I'd go to 16.

It's an interesting argument but onus has to be on the clubs through academies to create the player pool. Initially there probably aren't enough good players but it's either a long term growth of the game by developing them. Or perhaps we should keep reducing the number of top flight teams to increase the standard even further. I think also need to broaden the areas new players come from, which both Toulouse and Toronto provide a perfect opportunity.

How can you get a better quality super league if you make it smaller therefore reducing the genepool?. For instance a young person who is good at every sport he does is deciding which one to choose. If there are 16 teams in super league he stands a better chance in that sport,but as there are only twelve he decides to chance his arm at cricket instead because he has more chance of success, and that in my opinion is why we can't attract people to play.

Raise the salary cap (since is been the same for twenty years which is bizarre!) and increase the quota and there would be.

How many decent or potential SL quality players have to drop down a division every year under the current academy system, particularly from the likes of Wigan, Leeds and Saints? You only have to look at the Widnes squad. Add in the fact Hull KR and Londons squads have shown an ability to at least not get blown off the park and we have more than enough players for 14 teams.

I'd hate for the quota going up, there are too many average overseas players here as it is, and to suggest the quality of import would increase just by increasing the cap is a bit of a myth. If we want to develop the league the focus has to be put on clubs developing players, not buying them in.

Bring back franchising but base it on inclusion rather than exclusion. If a team is good enough off the field, let them in. Increase the overseas quota and salary cap to encourage stars from overseas. Work out how to manage a bigger league as it grows.
