I just can't even believe it was referred upstairs. Ran in a straight line and just slowed down. Whether intended to block player or not it was never illegal. Very astute play actually.

Ok, I have not properly seen the replays of this having just returned from the game. So the try was given as the vr thought no obstruction. Atkins was in the clear but what would have happened if Bulls player had pushed Riley who then collided with Atkins thus stopping the try being scored. Would a penalty have been given to Wire where the incident ooccured or would there then be a case for a penalty try? It never came to that but it was just a discussion we were having at the time.

The Bradford player was frustrated that 10 seconds before his team were on the attack and we had indeed 'turned defence into attack', when he realised he wasn't reaching Atkins he made a play for Riley, his movement was towards Riley not vice versa. It was a touch of frustration, understandable.

I think even Phil Clarke felt Eddie was making too big of a deal about very little.

Dont think it was obstruction, but looking directly at defender b4 slowing down was not brightest idea

Except, if you don't change your run path and somebody is coming directly at you, they you SHOULD slow done as the speed of the collision can have an impact as to whether you get hurt or not.

Eddie made himself look like a total girl last night. He called it wrong, realised that he'd made a mistake, but wouldn't man up and admit it.
