RFL Chief Executive Nigel Wood has extended his congratulations to Featherstone Rovers following their success in clinching a second successive Co-operative Championship League Leaders Shield.
Featherstone sealed top spot in the Championship by defeating Widnes Vikings 44-4 on Sunday and finishing ahead of close rivals Leigh Centurions by three points.

“On behalf of the RFL I would like to congratulate everyone at Featherstone Rovers for their success in winning the 2011 Championship League Leaders Shield, an achievement that everyone at the club should be proud of,” said Wood.

“Featherstone have been one of the most consistent sides in the Co-operative Championship over the past two seasons and their success in retaining the Leaders shield this season is testimony to the quality of their on-field performances in 2011.”

Well folk can laugh but I was in Wetherspoons this affy in Manchester and got chatting to one of those Russian Holly Garks.

I naturally bought him a vodka and he bought me a half back as Holly Garks do and anyways he has agreed to put £7 billion into Leigh Centurions when Trevor Barton gets back from holiday.

Mind you he did not look that trustworthy so we will see but I had to leave as I wanted to watch Star Trek Voyager.

I am not easily fooled but I think there is more to this refusal to present Fev with the League winners trophy yesterday than meets the eye.

When you think about it it is rather like Charlie Caroli posts these days' a seagull might follow a trawler and as he says looking at things in prospective there is no dividing line.
