| Can someone please explain to me why my thread has been removed? It was sanctioned by an official of the club, or I wouldn't have posted it.
It's on the club's official site.

| Hi Alan
as my thread was also removed maybe you can answer some of my questions?
Firstly i think in principle the idea is a good one and i am glad the club moving forward with ideas such as this.
However why not target the leigh public our main supporter base?
How are we expected to get the leigh public to attend when they have to pay between £6 and £8 more than an away supporter plus if they want to bring there child it would cost them an extra £5 were as the away fans child gets in free?
Most fans who travel away are hardcore supporters and tend to be season ticket holders.
Exampleicon_smile.gif
Leigh family of 4 (2 adults + 2 children) pay on day supporters sit in west stand costs £48
Batley family 4 (2 adult batley season ticket holders + 2 children) pay on day sit in west stand £20
This just doesnt feel right Leigh family are expected to pay £28 more to watch their home team?
Another example :-
Leigh fan + 1 child walk up supporter 9 championship home games sits in west stand pays £207
Warrington season ticket holder + child walk up on the day 9 championship home games sits in west stand £90
Thats £117 cheaper than the leigh fan is expected to pay!
Should we not be targeting the Leigh public with these great offers?
Im sorry if this appears negative but it just doesnt sit right with me that we are rewarding people for being ST holders of other clubs but punishing our walk up fans by charging them £2 more for buying on the day surley these are the people we need to be targeting?
Family of 4 tickets for £20 needs to be considered for all Leigh fans
£10 entry for all fans needs to be considered
If the above can be put in place i think its a brilliant idea!

| I understand what you're saying Saley.
From one point of view it seems the Leigh public are getting ripped off, but if 50 non Leigh fans turn up then there's money in the bank that wouldn't have been there otherwise.
At least the club are trying something, and if it doesn't work, they can try something different. Hopefully the club has got plans for Leythers, preferably getting kids in the ground, which isn't really on option on a Thursday night.
I like the idea of a family ticket, great shout.

| What about the Leigh ST holders if we do an offer for non ST holders??
We could pick holes all day and nothing would satisfy everybody. We have done enough freebies for locals that always get into the wrong hands, so target RL fans of other clubs who live locally - simples.
I do agree we need a regular dad n lad ticket offer (parent n child) at £16 North and £18 West when purchased before gameday.

| How have the Feb fans reacted to their clubs offer. Is it along the lines of 'the club is ripping off it's own fans'. Or do they actually understand the clubs reasoning. They also have 3 times as many ST holders than us yet still only managed 1600 v Batley.

| jonny it great things like this are happening at the club it shows were are moving forward.
however how many realistically are we going to get from other clubs? in this climate who can afford to watch 2 games of rugby in 1 week plus they would also have the cost of traveling to leigh plus food plus drink etc etc etc it soon adds up. In my opinion not very many but thats only my opinion i could be wrong i hope i am!!
In my opinion the main people this will benifit is the away supporters who have a season ticket, who would probably have come anyway and paid the £16 / £18 price (in this league only hardcore supporters tend to travel especially over the pennines). I personally think the 50 or so other club ST holders that do come will be negated by the 100 or so away fans paying £6 / £8 less than they would of normally
example
50 season ticket holders (other clubs) coming that would not normally come - £500 in the coffers, Brilliant
100 away fans with season tickets normal price £1800, with offer £1000 - not so brilliant
that would leave us £300 worse of even with the 50 other club ST holders?
Has the above been considered?
We need to make great offers like this available to the Leigh public and most importantly get the yongsters in especially on family tickets with there parents.

Interesting ideas there - I'd suggest putting them to the CEO/Directors. They make the decisions.
One of our (Leigh & Featherstone) hopes for this scheme is that all Championship clubs pick up on it, then (travelling) Leigh supporters will benefit. Of course, Leigh fans can always still buy a S/T - presumably discounted, as two games have gone - and benefit, should more clubs take up the idea.
Amlost 2,500 Saints/Wigan/Warrington/VT fans have now read this thread (thanks to Jonny) indicating at least an interest, and Wigan fans have said they will take up the offer.

I agree with you maurice, is that not what they are doing with this offer?
Does it not sit bad with you that as a loyal season ticket holder you are having to pay more per game than a season ticket holder of another club to watch a leigh match? even worse an away fan will get in cheaper than you?
The only benifit to you will be saving a £5 if/when you go to Fev away

Saley2 - The ultimate aim (of us and Fev) is that s/t holders will get £5 off when visiting [uall[/u Championship clubs.

| Maybe for next season now (as not to disadvantage current ST holders but i would propose the following)
Family Season Ticket (2 adults + 2 Children) - £220
Lad and Dad Season Ticket - £110
Adult Season Ticket - £100
Consessions Season Ticket - £70
Child Season Ticket - £10
Adult Walk up supporter - £12 (any stand) + 1 free child (if required)
Consession - £7 (any stand)
Child - £2 (any stand)
