To stop serving beer and soft drinks in plastic bottles before beer gets banned from the terraces like football. Another disgracefull sight of a half full bottle being thrown onto the pitch at Salford. I think it was aimed at Phil Bentham. Don't know why but it's got to stop.

Just ban the idiots throwing the stuff rather than spoil the enjoyment of everyone else.

But Harold like I said on the Fev forum. Everyone makes mistakes and I'm not condoning any idiots antics. What I am saying is why do clubs carry on selling merchandise that can be used as missiles to hurt players and officials on the field. Surely the solution is to only have plastic pots and not bottles, before beer gets banned from the terraces. That's all that will happen. The RFL and police will blame it all on ale and ban it.

CCTV would tell you which idiot had hit the referee with a bottle, it wouldn't prevent the punishment to the club, stop giving them the opportunity.

Exactly Reffy. CCTV isn't going to help an official or player who is hit by these idiots. A director once said to me that it is always better to be proactive rather than reactive.

All drinks should be served in plastic glasses. Too much revenue to be lost by banning drinks. Anyone caught throwing any object onto the pitch should be ejected from the ground and banned for a period.

A pie or a hot dog could be used as a missile if somebody was that way inclined. Should we just shut up the food and drink outlets altogether because of something that happened at another club?
