FUI EXTENDS HIS STAY WITH HIS NEW FAMILEIGH

Leigh Centurions are delighted to confirm that they have exercised their contract option and Fuifui Moimoi has now extended his deal with the Club until November 2016.

The former NRL and Tonga, New Zealand star signed for the Club amidst a blaze of publicity after eleven years with Parramatta Eels and has rapidly made a big impact on and off the field in his adopted town of Leigh.

After making his debut in the Kingstone Press Championship opener against Bradford Bulls and earning Heritage Number 1395 Moimoi, 35, has been in impressive form while his engaging and friendly manner off the field has already made him one of the Club’s most popular overseas signings.

Fui is sponsored by Atico’s Hair and Beauty whose owner Gary Pollitt has already enjoyed working on some new variations on his iconic hairstyle.

Leigh Centurions Head Coach Paul Rowley said: “Fui has started his Leigh career with the consistently high standards that have seen him succeed at the very top for many seasons.

“His hunger for success is strong and he has a strong drive to be a part of bringing success to the Club. I am delighted to see Fui continue the journey with us by extending his current contract and am looking forward to seeing the ever increasing influence he has on the team.”

Leigh Centurions Head of Rugby Derek Beaumont added: “The signing of Fuifui Moimoi really did elevate this Club to a different level. At the time there was always going to be an element of risk which I wanted to minimise by building in the option.

“Although Fui has more to give it is plain to see he is still the amazing player he always has been and I wanted him to have the comfort and security early on to really settle in. He is just as amazing off the field and is a massive part of our ‘Famileigh.’

“He is already, in such a short space of time, having a direct influence on the other boys and things can only get better with Fui in our camp. The way the fans have embraced him has been immense and he always shares a smile every time he hears them chant his name.”
