Afte Pat's immaculate 10 from 10 tonight, is he the best goal kicker Wigan has had

Personnally speaking from watching the following below, I believe the contenders are:

George Fairbairn
Colin Whitfield
David Stephenson
Joe Lydon
Frano Botica
Danny Tickle
Andy Farrell
Michael Dobson
Pat Richards

If I had to pick one it wold be Frano because he could kick them on poorer pitches then we have today, close call though

Dobson & Lydon good. Tickle decent enough.

The other 3 were before my time.

Still some way behind Frano for me.

He was that good the Wigan scoreboard went up in 'sixes' as a try went in.

Everytime "Wendy" attempted a kick at goal, the ball resembled a soggy loaf going over!

Certainly should be up there, along with O'Loughlin, but i think Cunningham will get it.

If it's only cause he's retiring then it would be a disgrace. The Man of Steel Award is for this seasons performances....NOT the last fifteen.
Ask any Stains fan and he's not in their top three (performing this season), that going to Roby, Ginge and Pryce.

The best bit of kicking i've ever seen was pat at brad in the play offs the pressure on the guy and he didn't just kick them everyone from the sideline bang in the middle masterclass

Thats it. The mark of a GREAT kicker is doing it in those pressure situations. Certain pundits laud Kevin Sinfield as an immaculate kicker but had Leeds lost that cup tie at the end of May it would have been down to him missing easy kicks. He missed four in all that day which almost gave Wigan the win. Would back Pat over Sinfield off the touchline any day of the week.

Frano was the greatest kicker of all time for us, IMHO.[size=85 (And an utter inspiration to my boy as a goalkicker)[/size

Still Frano Botica for me although I had similar thoughts about comparing the two tonight. I still chuckle when I see the kicking tees and think about Botica and the like building their own tees with sand from a bucket.
