So its a week to our first game of the season, we usually only send the 20s to these types of games but seeing as we dont have a 20s team anymore(!!!) i think we need to include Smith and Green in most of our pre season games, the centre spot is an obvious position that needs testing aswell. Against Leigh id like to see us line up like:

Dust off some cobwebs with a few of the regular first teamers. Typing that out makes me even more worried about this season, usually we have been able to put out two completely different starting 13s that would put up a decent fight in Super League but this year, not including just a few of our biggest names, I struggled to get one full set

Throw in players I've missed out like Lloyd, Crosby, Luaki, Spencer and anyone coming through the ranks and it is nowhere near as bad as some people are making out. Yes we're weak in the centres but if our forwards do their job it won't matter. We could play a make shift side for 27 weeks and still finish in the top 8 and have a good crack at the playoffs with a full strength team because other than 3 or 4 teams the quality in Super League is dog sh*t.

If (and I hope it happens) Joe Burgess continues to progress the way he has over the last two seasons we could move Charnley to centre and put Burgess on the wing. That would certainly, along with Green, add a lot of pace to the back line, although I do expect Burgess to be Pat Richards eventual replacement.

That team would be great for the fixture imo, although I think Spencer will be lining up for us. It gives most of your first team squad a hit out, and allows for a competitive fixture you should still win but you never know??

Hope to see a good following this time if that is the team, as we need the cash after losing the Salford game scheduled for today.

It would be great to see some of your 1st team players at the LSV , and would be a good first outing for your lads , i know a few of my Wigan friends are hoping the same , i just hope Mr Wane sends a strong squad and we can raise a few much needed funds .

Personally I hope (and assume) it will be the reserves so it's a closer game and they give it some in order to impress.

According to Wane in todays League Express Taylor, Dudson and Logan Tomkins will play along with Spencer and Crosby. The rest will be from the younger end, but I expect Murphy and Powell to be in the side.

I think the halfbacks could well be Powell and Hampshire.
