If we're trying to keep pretty much the same team as this year then it's a great signing.

Ashurst has been great for us over the years. I’m okay with this if it’s as a squad player. We need to be finding the next Ashurst though.

He has been a great servant to us, he certainly isn't the player he was but a 1 year deal does seem to make sense. Would next year be his 10th year with us and get him a testimonial as well?

If we stay up he’s a decent back up option with plenty of experience and if the worst happens and we go down he’s probably an important player in our attempts to get back out of the Championship

Underwhelming signing for me, been a great player for us, but this signing old players root or extending there contracts as put us were we are.

I get the impression he is a good person to have around the team. We have tried to go through a transitional period losing loads of voices at once and it was a disaster.

If he is starting week in week out in SL next year I would agree with you but I think he will be backup.

If the worst happens and we do drop I think he will be a very good Championship player.
