| Has anyone else seen the Wakefield express article posted today about the section 106 agreement for the re development. I’m abit confused as I thought that whole agreement was specifically for the development of Belle vue so why do some councillors have issue with it? It questions the funding transferring to new owners. I thought the money was given to us to allow newcold to build on land. Do we have to pay that money back? And also the sum of money states 6million was put towards it when I thought it was more 8million given via the 106. Does anyone with more knowledge of it understand or can explain. Sorry I don’t know how to link the article on here

| It's only saying they want assurances the money is protected.
I thought it was part of the deal already but Ellis just needs to legally say the club andvground will remain a rugby club.

| Yes that’s the article. Is that all it’s getting at. I would have thought all the money getting spent on the ground would be the assurance that it remains a rugby ground. Just the way it read made it seem like we are liable for that money and it was more of a loan

| A nothing article, councils often hold onto S106 fees they receive from developers which are for specific purposes, meaning the public lose out. Here we have the allocated S106 fees being correctly distributed and the council members are worrying about it. They have been used for the purpose they were requested, and it wasn't council money as such.

| I think we all know by now that, for the last couple of decades, the Wakefield express hasn’t been the Wakefield express

| I used to enjoy reading "Reports from the courts" to see if I could spot anyone I knew.
My dear old Grandad would get it to see who had died that week.
The Express is not much use for anything else.

| Stopped buying it years ago, when it moved out of Wakefield. Its £1.70 for a little bit of local news, a load of generic 'filler' articles and pages of adverts...waste of money.

Was strange how they used to die in alphabetical order.

| Not the same since it changed from a b&w broad sheet. The last time I looked there were pages and pages of adverts and puzzles with very little actual local news apart from a usual double page spread about what's going on at Pinderfields. As someone said , not even produced in Wakefield for years. The Trinity news all seemed to be gleaned from The League Express anyway.
