That was 1981

I was there, I was only 14, stood in threepenny I remember feeling very scared, then me Dad rushing us home past all the fighting and police horses, not sure where Ian & Shaun where probably with Welham, Dannatt, Harrison & Co in the thick of it

I remember them fighting up the steps of the flyover on Anlaby Road. VERY FRIGHTENING!

It was the only time I ever stood down that end of the ground and in comes the bricks. I remember throwing kids and woman over the fence onto the pitch and then walking to the other end of the ground past 3d.

The game should have been abandoned at that point, 38 serious injuries. I saw a boy around ten or eleven hit on the head by a brick, not nice and I wanted to rip the head off the mongrel who threw it.

Was a sad day, thankfully things have moved on, the mad part was the fact they all went to work together the following week
