Not really a surprise.

If he really wants to go i would let him go at the end of this year, as it would be hard for us to find a replacement this late on.

I would let him go a year early though and make him sign a contract, that he comes back to Hull if he comes back to England.

I'm still hopeful we can offer him a deal to stay long term, but with the money available and the chance to live and play in the NRL, it's going to be very hard keeping him.

He wont be asking for a release now, this will be to tie him to a deal once his current contract expires - or put him in a position to go to Pearson and say "Cronulla offered me this, what can you do"

Hull need to get Tommy tied up into a long term deal like Wigan have with Sam Tomkins. We don't need a winger with his ability leaving us to go off to Aussie or anywhere else for that matter. I think its about time the RL raised the salary cap so we can compete with Aussie clubs and retain players with better contracts.

Sad state of SL ufortunately and until the cap is re thought players will keep going to the NRL or RU.

agreed - the rfl need to sort this out across the british game (not just the half baked salary cap concession around sam tomkins contract) otherwise our best players will come under threat from both union and the nrl. briscoe one week, ryan hall the next, roby the week after that and so on

Salary cap has next to nothing to do with it, if we want to keep these players the standard of competition has to improve.

Would like him to stay with us but I honestly couldn't blame him if he wanted to go to the NRL.
